The Central Election
Commission (CEC) held an election observation program during Taiwan’s 2020
presidential and legislative election, inviting Association of World Election
Bodies (A-WEB) Secretary-General Jong-Hyun Choe and Association of Asian Election
Authorities (AAEA) Executive Board Members, the Philippines Commission on Elections
(COMELEC) and the General Elections Commission (KPU) of Indonesia to come to
Taiwan. During their stay, the representatives not only came to the CEC headquarters
to listen to the presentation on the 2020 presidential and legislative election,
but also visited the polling stations and the Central Counting and Information Center
to better understand Taiwan electoral system and the process of voting and
counting. They further exchanged views on electoral experiences.
